I was in Berlin when the first McDonald's hit town. In the US, they had the contest where if you could say "Two all meat patties, lettuce,...etc" in IIRC 15 seconds, you got one for free.  In Germany, they gave you more seconds, because, it was more syllables I think. They let us get away with saying it in English under the German language time constraint.
