According to the ISO standard, this is not true.  In fact, 2000 had only
"52" weeks.

The referenced article states that the first week and the last week of 2000
each have only one day.  The ISO standard has a requisite four day minimum
to be considered a week.

If the application consideration is only that days be present in a week
(where a week is defined as Sunday through Saturday), then, yes 2000 had 54
weeks; but the accepted definition of a week is one which contains at least
four days.

Of course, we all know that writing applications to take meet
internationally accepted (or even nationally accepted) standards is just
silly.  We're Americans and we don't have to put up with that crap.

Now, where did I put that printer driver I was writing in chinese characters
sublimated into Assembler...
