Back Fans Removal
The power to the SPU does not have to be off to remove a back cooling fan. Fan number 6
and fan number 7 are located in the back of the SPU.
Before removing a back fan from the SPU, you must first perform the following tasks:
• Front bezel removal
• Extending the SPU out the back
• Back top cover removal
To remove a back fan from the SPU, perform the following steps:
1. Check the fan LED on the appropriate cooling fan. The red LED is on when the fan has
failed.
NOTE when one fan has failed (or removed from the SPU), the system automatically
puts the remaining fans into high speed mode. The noise level of the SPU
does go up.
2. Loosen the two captive mounting screws located along the top of the cooling fan.
3. Grasp the plastic fan handle and lift up on the cooling fan, removing it from the SPU.
The fan, inside the housing, can now replaced if necessary, refer to Replacing a Fan for Thank You,

We have an N-Class making noise and the alert light came on. I quickly identified the issues as Fan 7. Can someone enlighten me with:
1) The location of the fan?
2) Is it hot swappable?
3) How urgent is the need to replace it? (Can it wait until the weekend?)
