Earlier this year I was experiencing what might seem to be the inverse -
I would start a download from Microsoft, and verisign would say it could
NOT validate the certificate.

In this case, I'm guessing the stolen certificate would be an issue if the
criminal had also managed to re-direct Microsoft traffic to another site?
