HP had another certification program. About 5 or 6 years ago I was
working for an HP Value-Added Reseller,
and the program offered at that time was for, an HPCNP ( that's an HP
Certified Networking Professional ).
I attended the first session that was offered in North America (
possibly the only one ever offered ) in the
Burlington, Ma. HP Office. The training lasted for three or four days,
and at the end of the class we took
a fairly extensive exam.

As a primarily HP 3000 person, I learned a great deal about networks in
the training session. ( Enough to
design & build a multisite, 100+ node network. ) Unfortunately, this
was the only time that I had heard about
the training or certification class. I have not encountered anyone else
who has heard of, or attended
a similar certification class.

OK - Everyone has heard of Microsoft certification. If HP continued
their certification program ( and opened
it up to all of their customers, or anybody ) -- would HP's Marketing
Dept. have spread the word to a wide
enough audience, to make their Certification 'worthwhile' to either the
HP community, or beyond it?
Technically, it was a worthwhile program. As usual with HP, nobody had
heard about it.
