any sufficiently advanced technology might as well be magic.
while it IS funny, hee hee, it's perfectly reasonable that a user who
sees he's changing the keyboard's behavior might get the impression it's
done by changing properties of the keyboard.
i bet if you didn't via experience know better, swapping a properly
behaving keyboard into place would seem a perfectly reasonable thing to
try. And Certainly a lot easier than calling the help desk!
