Is Ldev 11 working properly now? Is it recognized by MAPPER? If MAPPER
does not see the drive, MPE will not either. Make sure the SCSI dip
switches for Ldev 11 are set to a SCSI-ID of 1.
As was mentioned earlier, you cannot use SCSI-ID 7 for anything, that is the
address of the HBA device. You can only have 8 devices on a narrow SCSI
(SCSI-2) bus, 7 peripherals and 1 adapter.
On the list you provided, you have 6 disk drives (Ldev 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11)
and one tape drive (Ldev 7). The SCSI-IDs are all used up; 0 for the tape
drive, 1-6 for the disk drives and 7 for the HBA.
In order to add more disk drives or other peripherals, you will need to use
another SCSI chain, connected to another HBA. What model 3000 is this and
can you post a complete list from SYSGEN LP?

I'm confused. In my main box I have ldev 1 and ldev 2 (paths 52.6 and 52.5
respectively)
My DDS-3 tape drive is configured as path 52.0
I configured the new ST19171N disc drive as path 52.1
Ldev 1 and 2 are in the main box and ldev 3, 4 and 5 are in a separate box
connected together via SCSI cable.
The box with ldev 3,4 and 5 have enough bays in it to support up to 7
devices.
If my system can only support paths zero thru 6 does this mean I cannot add
any more disc drives to this secondary box?
