I would simply purge every account that isn't manager...

Hello all,

Long time no post. Sorry to have been gone so long, but I've had my
hands full the last three years with migration tasks.

I am preparing our HP3000 systems for final shutdown and want your
opinions about procedures, particularly in relation to SOX and PCI
compliance. I have already scratched and erased all user volume sets
(using the ERASEDISK function of Lund's De-Frag/X -- thanks to Bill
Lancaster and Stan Sieler for their help).

So my question now is, what is the best way to insure there are no files
hanging around that might contain sensitive data? I'm concerned there
may be something lurking somewhere that could be recovered that has
passwords, data, or whatnot.=20

I have purged all spoolfiles and logs (third-party and system). Should I
wipe out the system volume and reinstall from scratch before shutting
down? Or is it sufficient to simply purge all third-party utility
accounts (i.e., non-HP accounts)?

Thoughts, suggestions, comments and commiserations are all welcome.

TIA,
Patrick Santucci
