I am trying to make a change to the std. Minisoft-supplied
LJ132GB.pub.minisoft Environment File (GREEN BAR SIMULATION) file we're
using with NET PRINT.   We use LaserJets connected via Jet Direct cards.

The Std. LJ132GB file looks Great, except for one thing:  the Print is
too light, and needs to be BOLDED a bit.

What I tried to do was to cram the PCL5 BOLD Sequence [ esc ( s 3 B ]
into the file using the Editor (couldn't use QUAD due to Variable
Rec-Length file), using these steps:

1.      MPEX Altfile LJ132GB.pub.minisoft;CODE=0

2.      :EDITOR  /T LJ132GB
Got "File Truncated to 255 Bytes", although all 6 lines looked good.
(Did anything really Truncate?)

3.      Added  "esc ( s 3 B" to end of Line #1, and KEPT.

4.   MPEX Altfile LJ132GB;CODE="TTYPE"

Started NP92JOB back up, and ran a Test.   The TEXT did go BOLD very
nicely, BUT for some reason the Horz. Pitch went to approx. 220-column
mode.  Ie, the print "Squeezed Left" to about 2/3 of the page!  I then
re-tried by putting the Escape-Seq at the very end of the LJ132GB file
(end of line #6).  Same thing.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to How I can get the print Bolded
without screwing up the Pitch?

Also, has anyone else developed Alternative GREEN-BAR Env files for Net
Print?  My users are real picky, and are not giving up their LM600 line
printer with 8.5 x 14 paper without a fight!
