I would like to add that for PCs with a lack of resources/power, that
Xubuntu is the best solution.  Where Ubuntu and Kubuntu could be compared to
Vista in size (if you installed everything possible), Xubuntu has resource
requirements that are a might less than Win95, IIRC.  It uses the third most
popular Linux desktop XFce4 which uses the GTK2 toolset like GNOME, but is
highly more optimized and pared down. It will run well on hardware that the
other two can't even be installed on.
