I hate to ask you this but how old are you? I find that once we get over 55+ years old, it gets harder and harder to find a job doing anything. I notice a lot of older guys managing convenience stores and the like.

I'm 45. Several times I've suggested to my wife about being a truck driver (tongue in cheek) and she follows that up by telling me to hang in there. I, like many others on this list, thought that a sys admin future with HP3K would have taken me through retirement. Of course, now that HP has put it out to pasture, I've become a dinosaur.

Regarding the posting about the Cobol programmer in Mn, I've seen several recent postings; one for Ulm, which I spoke to a female recruiter a while back but apparently I didn't fit the bill for what they are looking for and another for Accenture in Minneapolis... sent my resume but haven't heard anything yet. Like I mentioned earlier, I see a lot of Cobol and 4GL developer/migration opps out there if one is willing to relocate. Guess I should've used my Cobol from college (1984) to become a developer. Who'd a thunk.... :o)
