You don't say what release your on so I'll assume 6.5 or 7.0. The
following is from SYSGEN on a 6.0 (but will serve fine for 6.5) and a
7.0 box for pseudo-LP ldev. I can send similar info from a 997 if you
need it.

You MUST have a system printer defined that is NOT a network printer.
When you are applying patches & updates you'll have to start spooling
for some of the patch processes to complete properly (they run as jobs
and need to spool the $stdlist output). LDEV 6 has been the standard
LDEV for the system line printer for a couple of decades (gee, longer
than Windows has existed, huh?).

For check lists on adding hardware you should have info that came with
the card (an installation manual) and also the system software
maintenance guide should be in reach as well.

6.0/6.5 (change the path specifications for your box) on a 969:
