If you have Image/SQL and not just TurboIMAGE, besides
ODBCLink from M.B. Foster and ODBC/32 from Minisoft
HP is bundling a special version of the M.B. Foster product
called ODBCLink/SE. Currently this is expected to be
generally available in the August - September 1997 time-
frame. Note that unlike the M.B. Foster & Minisoft products,
ODBCLink/SE will only work through the Allbase part of
Image/SQL; it does *not* provide direct access to IMAGE.

Direct 32-bit ODBC access to IMAGE without having to go
through Allbase was the runaway winner on the SIGIMAGE
1997 enhancement ballot; however, HP has made it quite
clear that currently they have no intention of competing with
the established third-party vendors by bundling this additional
feature. Of course what is and is not bundled is occasionally
subject to revision as time goes by, but if you need direct 32-
bit ODBC access to IMAGE any time soon or even semi-soon,
I would recommend going the third-party route.

Also note that when HP does deliver the bundled ODBCLink/SE
product, it will completely replace the current 16-bit HPPCAPI
ODBC driver.
