As I understand it there are no plans to have UNIX functionality on the
classic (i.e. a series 48) system. To get anything like UNIX
functionality you would need to upgrade to a new system.

I do believe that you can connect a classic system with UNIX systems on
a network using third party NFS software such as Quest software's. But
this would only give you file access to UNIX systems.

To actually run UNIX programs on the 3000, a new system would be
required. And not all UNIX software runs on the 3000. It has to be
ported to the 3000 fist.
