cobgen really gets wound up into a little ball if it encounters IMAGE
type E or R elements. It should set them as X(4) and X(8) to account for
the space taken but it doesn't.
BTW - an early "greenie" says how to access Real Numbers in COBOL using
direct calls to EXTIN' and INEXT'
