I am installing a demo of eloquence on my test Win2k server.
Everything has gone reasonably smoothly, the documentation is complete
if a bit cryptic at times, I have the server up and running and now I am
attempting to create the database from my production schema.
One error that the schema utility reports made me think that I must be
doing something wrong so I dug into the documentation.
From the TurboImage manual:
| Data Names | Data names can consist of from 1 to 16 alphanumeric
|
| | characters, the first of which must be alphabetic.
|
| | Characters after the first must be chosen from this
set: |
From the Eloquence manual:
The item name is from 1 through 15 characters and may consist of
uppercase alphabetic characters, the numbers 0 through 9, or the minus
sign (-). The name must begin with a letter. Item names must be unique
within the item section.
It seems exceedingly strange that they would limit their item names to 1
character shorter than what image allows.
Am I missing something?
How did the rest of you migrators handle this?
Comments are my own, not my employer's... Etc.
