We've been playing with the ODBC connectivity issues and LWP. We
encountered the problem with version 1.88 and 1.89 and backdated to 1.68.
We then tested some combinations and found that if you are 'very' carefull,
you can install the 1.89 version TCPIP.EXE with the WINSOCK and WLIBSOCK
from version 1.68. and ODBC works fine (Tested using COGNOS Impromptu). The
biggest gotcha is making sure that either one copy of WINSOCK and WLIBSOCK
exist on the pc or that the calling DLL's are pathed to the proper version.
WRQ Reflection 4.1 and NSOPEN, for example, will look for WINSOCK.DLL in
the path, home directory, directory of the LSL, etc. Hope this helps. Tom

It is true that LWP 4.2 will not connect to HPDAARPA. The LWP168 patch is
available from the HP Response Center. You will be backdating to Lan
Workplace 4.1 however when you install this patch.

HP is actively certifying LWP 4.2's WINSOCK and WLIBSOCK.
