Mistake? why is it a mistake? This guys wants a higher end server than what
he has, wants to stay within the 9x8 class, wants to stay with in the same
software tier, and he also wants to keep the 968 for a back up. Why would I
push him to a 9x9? He's satisfied with the memory that's in already in the
968 and the disk is more than enough.

IMHO, This is probably a mistake. In my experience, the 9x8 systems are
very limited in memory
capacity (515MB), and generally this is the root of 9x8 performance
problems. The upgrade results
going to a 969, or a 979, with 3.75 GB of memory would be more likely to
be satisfactory.
