HP is now making the POSIX Developer's Kit a part of FOS. As Kriss Rant
has stated on this list before, it will be on the 5.5 release and it is
my understanding is it also available to 5.0 users if "needed". gcc/g++
is available and "needs the developer's kit libraries" (hint). Oh, BTW -
I make very good use of the POSIX features of MPE, and I don't use HP/C
either!

The GNU environment has allowed me to port various things as PGP, Perl5,
GNU Make, GNU Groff, and of course, GCC and G++, etc. etc. Just look at
the GNU stuff available on Jazz as an example. So, with these tools
available and a little PUBLICITY (the operative keyword here), there is
the ability to port a bunch of stuff to MPE and compete with the best.

Regards,

M.
