Hi Folks,
This is a copy of an email I just received from IBM Developer Works(yes
I am a member) about LPI http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/ and then hit
"Linux" and then "LPI certification". Something similar is what HP should be
sending out re "any" system it supports, either now or in the future if its
not too late. All pertinent information is there for the selection.

Well, the boat has left and some will never know it was even there. To
think I almost left IS 28 years ago because of IBM's attitude(I was on IBM
mainframes at HP at the time) which translated into "So what if you have to
rewrite everything...", only to find HP embracing the same philosophy now
after inventing MPE/iX and its tenant of evolving the OS. Apparently IBM has
learned this and HP has forgotten it. What a waste..!

IBM developerWorks Newsletter - Product edition
May 1, 2002
Vol 1, Issue 17

IBM's resource for developers.
http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/?np-117
 =======================================================================

Greetings, developerWorks readers.

On the door of two coworkers' office hangs a little sign that changes
every day. Friday it said, "8 days." Yesterday, "5 days." Today,
finally overcome with curiosity, I knocked on the door to ask which
life-altering milestone they were counting down to: a wedding or a big
vacation trip or early retirement, perhaps?

Not even close. Only the opening day for Spider-Man, the movie,
deserves such heightened anticipation. Well, that and IBM's biggest
developer conference of the year, developerWorks Live!, May 7-10 in San
Francisco, of course.

At the conference, you can take advantage of the no-charge LPI test,
which IBM is offering in conjunction with the Linux Professional
Institute (LPI). The Linux certification exam LPI-101 will be
available at no-charge for all IBM PartnerWorld members, as well as any
developers who already have an IBM Professional certification. To get
ready, check out our set of tutorials in the developerWorks Linux zone
that will help you prepare for and pass the LPI exam 101.

You also won't want to miss Thursday's party at developerWorks Live!,
where Smash Mouth will perform their hits including "All Star," "Walkin
on the Sun," "Then the Morning Comes," plus "I'm a Believer" from the
movie "Shrek." This is your last chance to register; we're at the
bottom of the countdown. Hope to see you there!
