Alfredo,

You miss the point. I surfed to the indicated address and started reading
the horror stories and various problems these people were moaning about. It
just indicates that these people are incompetent at the very least. After
reading a few stories where people could not connect CD-ROM drives, sound
cards, disc drives, etc.. . I went elsewhere. I never even read Machrone's
piece.

You originally stated that people should visit that location in preparation
for HP World. Preparation for what? I ask you. Preparation for bitching and
moaning? Not very productive.

I replied to you directly, not because I was scared to post to the list, but
rather to minimize the Pound-on-Mac-Pound-on-Windows bandwith. I fail to see
what advocacy for Macs has to do with an HP 3000-centric list. You cannot
even get to an IMAGE database from a Mac without writting code.

I am aware of and understand your aversion to Windows and ODBC, but suffice
it to say that Windows and ODBC's existance have certainly rekindled the
interest in IMAGE as a workable database engine in c/s applications, witness
some of the recent postings on this very list. Apple has not done anything
for the HP 3000, MPE or IMAGE.

I appreciate your bias for HP 3000 and Macs, but consider this: I discover,
share and freely provide information on how to use Windows, Word, Excel, MS
Access and ODBC with HP 3000 and IMAGE. I challenge you to do the same for
Macs, instead of passing old, out of date gripes about Windows. That is my
challenge to you!

I look forward to seeing you next week in Anaheim, do have a safe trip.

Prominent my eye! :-)

Kind regards,

Denys. . .
