  I'm not familiar with "umdir"; but do you mean "SMTP" addresses? Or are
you referring to "SNMP"?
  Assuming that perhaps you were referring to "SMTP" then maybe you're looking
for something like "finger"? I seem to recall someone on the list having done
something with finger (don't recall if it was a server or just a client
though?). /*subtle plug*/ Our NetMail/3000 email system includes a bundled
finger server, though it only reports mailboxes that have been flagged as
being "advertised" and then only if the admin enables the finger server.
/*end plug*/ Finger can be handy, but can also be a security risk, which is
why alot of sites that have it, don't enable it.
