Is there anyone out there who can help or who needs
the same help that I do? -- MPEiX Sessions Hanging.

We have an HP3000 running MPE 5.5 power patch 6. The
client connection is Reflection using VT-MGR over
Frame Relay (100BT switched Ethernet over Cisco
Routers). We have users in three different states that
connect to the HP3000 and use our order entry system,
which is a COBOL/VIEW application. The local LAN for
two of the facilities is 16mb Tokenring and the other
is 100BT switched Ethernet.

We have been experiencing random MPE session 'hanging'
for the past year at all three of our facilities. It
will affect one to x number of users. Sometimes the
session is terminated on the HP3000 and sometimes it
isn't. We have had network experts, HP3000 experts,
and the Response Center involved in trying to identify
the problem with no success.

We have made hundreds of network changes and have had
performance experts monitor the system. We have
reviewed the PC's configuration and upgraded the PC
software.

This problem is costing the company severely and after
all this time and effort we are no closer to resolving
it. We are running out of ideas.

Does anyone out there have any answers? Is this
problem affecting other MPE shops? If so, let's plan
to dialog over the Internet on this subject. Perhaps
we can get HP's attention.
