    With Oracle I would say your Programmer role changes and you do a lot of work within the database instead of programming outside of it to automate a number of things.   That is beyond the point.  The point is software.  The point is CRM to include marketing, sales, service call center/interaction center, e-commerce and integration.   The point is ERP to include Internet procurement, supply chain for discrete or process manufacturing, financial management, treasury, Euro, Travel management, project management, Human resources.  The point is BI to include Operational intelligence, analytical applications and strategic intelligence.  The point is company  wide intranets today to better the organization and on and on.   Ready today.   That is the point.   The MPE platform has to my knowledge only one software offering.  So where do you go from here?  Maybe taking a serious look at your current less than ready soon to be obsolete solution?
