I think you're also the one that inserted the term "Republicans" into
the discussion.  I haven't seen any news report from a reputable source
(or the New York Times, for that matter) than indicates party
affiliation of the participants.

Personally, I think they were could more accurately be identified as
music critics.  Or maybe movie critics.
