I have been to the FAQ (thanks Chris) and I have followed the
instructions contained therein for setting up a network
(JetDirect) printer to the HP3000. This is what I am getting:
:14:38/24/Output spooler, LDEV #4171: SNMP error SNMPERR_GENERR
reported while retrieving printer status. Native Mode Spooler
message 9656
14:38/24/Output spooler, LDEV #4171: Cannot communicate with
network printer. Check network xport config, NPCONFIG.PUB.SYS,
xport and links started status, intermediate network, and printer
status. Native Mode Spooler message 9662
Here is the setup:
#NPCONFIG 97 NOV 05
global (
message_interval = 60
pjl_supported = FALSE
jam_recover = FALSE
)
4101 (network_address = xxx.xxx.xxx.99) #Fort Erie
4171 (network_address = xxx.xxx.xxx.50) #Hamilton
4172 (network_address = xxx.xxx.xxx.51) #Hamilton
4173 (network_address = xxx.xxx.xxx.52) #Hamilton
ioconfig:
ioconfig:lc
CLASSNAME MODE LDEV(S)
--------- ---- -------
NPHAMP01 out 4171
NPHAMP02 out 4172
NPHAMP03 out 4173
NPFTEP01 out 4101
ioconfig:
So? What am I missing here?
Platform:
HP3000/935 OS MPE/iX 5.5 express 2
HPLaserJet II
HP JetDirect Ex Plus 3
ThinLan
We have multiple WinNT and Win95 configured on the same lan and
talking to the HP3000 via Win92 so I presume that the necessary
network services are started. However, I will point out that
there is no mention of the necessity for this in the FAQ. Have
I missed something?
Regards,
Jim
