Apparently, a number of people are unaware how Winston's career has
prospered since 11/14/2001, unlike those of many of his former CSY
colleagues. Consider this HP press release dated 11/18/2002 (date
coincidence intended):

HP Retains No. 1 Position in TOP500 Supercomputer Ranking

HP Places Four in Top 10, Including ASCI Q at Los Alamos National
Laboratory, the Most Powerful Supercomputer in the U.S.

Dublin, Nov. 18, 2002 -- HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced that it again ranks
as the No. 1 supercomputing supplier on the TOP500 Supercomputer Sites
list.(1)

...

"Our strong showing is a solid affirmation of the confidence our technical
and commercial customers have in HP's ability to meet their most demanding,
most challenging high-performance computing needs," said Winston Prather,
vice president and general manager, HP High Performance Technical Computing
Division.

...

Nice work if you can get it. Winston was named to this position on day 1 of
the merged HPQ after serving on the merger "clean room" team. His CSY swan
song was his 10 minute rehash (originally scheduled for 30 minutes) of the
11/14 announcement at the 2002 Solutions Symposium. He immediately left the
mess he'd created for others to clean up.
