the input command won't work in batch.  typically, job files are static -- that is,
it's the exact same job that's run over and over.   another alternative is to have
'something' (a program or a command file) generate the job file on-the-fly.  you
might have issues with passwords (on the job card) but you'll need to figure that
out :-)         - d
