that's nice...but in 4 pitches from 4 different DR vendors, we were
consistently told that there's no guarantee that your dr system(s) are
going to match what you run in production -- mpe or not.

what we were offered (from the vendor that we signed with) was a
t-class (99x) system. thanks but no....we had good reasons for leaving
our 99x box...and going backwards isn't an option.

to add to the fun, they had no on-site mpe people. if we had declared
a disaster, we would be starting from scratch to try to bring a box up.
what would i have for disc -- no bloody clue. tapes drives? got me?
dlts? you mean mpe can support dlt? i guess you get the idea.

oh and that vendor we signed with? they were the ONLY company that
would at least say they could do mpe. they seem to be able to do dr
well for unix and windows...but we're doing our own dr for mpe. at
least that way we've got a fighting chance. - d
