Hi Costas,
um... you seem to be trying to list out the contents of your output file
(that is created via your file equation) This seems to be like trying to read
from a printer?

Qedit is probably just using an internal error message that relates to the
MPE/iX error it recieved when trying to do the listing...Similar to what
WordPerfect does with DOS errors when you try to read from a diskette that is
not there.

Art "is it ime to go home yet?" Bahrs

I'm curious as to why this happens.

From within QEDIT :

FILE DUMMY;DEV=LP,1,1
L DUMMY

The result is :

"Warning: No Line"
But isn't that the message you get when you try to List an empty file ?

What's it trying to do ? Is it trying to list the contents of LP and finding it
empty?

I'd expect "Error: NONEXISTANT PERMANENT FILE (FSER 52)".

And just to add to my confusion, the above sequence of commands creates a
two-line spoolfile by the name DUMMY !!

Is this a "feature" or has my day been even longer than it feels :) ?
