Try the Intersolv or Visigenics ODBC drivers; they both use Ingres Net
on the PC client to connect to Ingres Net (and thence to the database)
on the server.

Of course Ingres Net on MPE has other problems...

Pardon my asking, but what are you doing with Ingres on MPE?  We got it
so that we could use the Ingres Gateway to Allbase to access some
TurboIMAGE data from some Ingres-base applications running on HP-UX; we
had so many problems with the MPE implementation that eventually
purchased an Allbase license for HP-UX and used Allbase Net to get to
the TurboIMAGE databases.
