Replacement of a disc drive requires a reload, far simpler to just add the
new disc if you have space in your disc cabinets.
The SW Maintenance Manual documents the process If you must reload. Look for
"Re-Install using a CSLT"

I have a 2 GB disc drive in the system volume set.  Needing to add disc
space I was wondering if there was a procedure for switching this out for a
larger disc (9 GB).  I know I can add the new disc just fine but would like
to switch the drives so I have the same number of spindles.

Any ideas.  Boot single user and use some disc copy tool?
