In my experience, the POSIX layer and directory structure works well for
this purpose.

Subject: Re: IMAGE Blobs

Back to blobs for a moment...

Even if a clever scheme is developed to store a blob of whatever into an
Image database, it first has to exist on the system as some type of file
(unless somebody gets even more clever). As such it would be very very very
helpful to have an organized consistent method of storing various PC file
types on a MPE system. That way software that uses these files will work
consistently from one system to the next regardless of what software
originally created the file. I'd like to see HP add in a bunch of file
codes
for various PC filetype extensions. This works by the way but doesn't
really
create a TIFF...

:BUILD THEBLOB;CODE=TIFF

Once file codes are assigned to various file types, some mechanism needs to
be created to create the files in a standard manner.

So if I want to get my little 3000 up to speed and use it to supply product
photos to Apache and such, how do I go about it?

Wasn't that a bunch of open ended questions???

Wayne
