Another alternative is to use ADBC. ADBC is a set of pure 100% Java Objects
that allow complete access to IMAGE, KSAM, MPE files using the native
intrinsics bypassing ODBC overhead. You do not need IMAGE/SQL, nor would
you need to create and maintain an SQL Environment.

ADBC Works with ANY client or server application that implements Java (PC’s,
Macs, Unix, Linux, MS CE Devices…). You can use the ADBC objects in Active
Server Pages (ASP), Java Server Pages (JSP), Java Beans, Enterprise Java
Beans, and ActiveX controls…

The ADBC API is very easy to use. No knowledge of SQL is necessary.

Due out 1st qtr of 2000 will be the ADBC Enterprise Application Server Beans
that will contain pre-written Enterprise Java Beans to help you rapidly
develop e-commerce systems using your HP3000 as the application server or
Database Server. The beans will contain pre-written, generic objects that
you can extend and map to your existing Customer, Inventory, Part, and Order
datasets. We will also provide pre-written objects that will allow you to
sell your products over the web using standard features, such as
“shopping-cart” objects, “check-out” objects, Product detail objects… The
ADBC enterprise beans will work with most application servers(WebLogic,
Orion...).
