Patrick - I heard a funny story about the Mohammad. It seems that these
journalists have had to pay the regime 100s of dollars per day for the right
to stay downtown and cover the war. As Baghdad was being besieged, of
course, the organization for collecting the fees was becoming haphazard.

The last day Mohammad made his appearance be began by ranting that the
journalists hadn't paid for some time, and demanded payment immediately -
like NOW.

So the "hat was passed" figuratively speaking, and $200,000 was raised.

If you doubt this number take a look at the crowd of journalists around him.

Anyway  Mohammad collected the money that was the last day anyone saw him.
