:VERSION PERL.PUB.PERL
VERSION C.60.00 Copyright (C) Hewlett-Packard 1987. All Rights Reserved.
PERL.PUB.PERL
SOM #1
@(#) HP30315 A.05.10 95/02/08 NRT0 Startup routine
MAX STACK SIZE: 393216
MAX HEAP SIZE: 81920000
CAPABILITIES: BA,IA,PH
UNSAT PROC NAME:
ENTRY NAME:
LIBRARY SEARCH LIST: /usr/lib/libcurses.sl /lib/libsvipc.sl
/usr/lib/libsocket.s
l /usr/lib/libstr.sl /lib/libm.sl /lib/libc.sl
Hmmmmmm. No XL's listed at all. Undeterred, I tried the chmod and found
that none of the libraries above existed!
Further investigation revealed that /usr/lib had a lot of files that ended
in ".a". Hey, didn't I read something about this on Mark's web site? Yeah,
here it is:
Convert your *.a system archive libraries to *.sl shared libraries
You only have to do this ONCE on your MPE/iX 5.5 machine in order to convert
/lib/lib*.a and /usr/lib/lib*.a libraries to their *.sl equivalents. This
step should not be necessary on MPE/iX 6.0 or later machines because the 6.0
or later update process does it for you.
:XEQ SH.HPBIN.SYS /PERL/PUB/LIBSHP3K
Well, guess what? On this 6.0 machine it was necessary. Oh, well.
Anyway, the good news is that once I fixed this problem, the script is
running a-ok!
Thanks all!
