HP sure is difficult to deal with. Note:

1. Ordered a Pavilion 6470 with peripherals from HP Shopping
Village.
2. It was supposed to be a surprise gift, but sure didn't turn
out
    that way.
3. Went to set it up. CPU DOA. Well not quite Dead, but might
as well
be - light comes on on power up, but shuts down in 10
seconds. I
    suspect power supply.
4. After several attempts call HP warranty number (NOT an 800
number
    to add insult to injury.
5. HP guy makes me do ridiculous tests on my nickel before
admitting
that yes I have a bad CPU and schedules a call under
warranty.

My complaints are that a warranty call should be to an 800 number
and
that a simpler test needs to be asked for when the customer says
the
damned thing is DOA (and also that service should be provided a
little
more promptly - have to wait almost a week).

End of rant. Thanks fellas I feel better now.
