Are there any knowledgeable Samba users who might have
a check sheet for installing Samba successfully? I'm
trying to install version 2.2.8a on a 7.0 system and
every instruction sheet I can find is contradictory
and ultimately unsuccessful so far. I'm at the point
of running the testparm utility and get the following:
shell/iX> testparm /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf
Load smb config files from
/usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf
Unable to open configuration file
"/usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf"!
pm_process retuned false
Error loading services.
shell/iX>
And on a somewhat related note: would transferring a
file from the HP3000 via Reflection be any different
than transferring it via Samba in regards to the
characteristics of the file once it is on a PC?
