Tim,
what you are looking for is AFCP, which is the protocol that the HP uses
to communicate with the DTCs. In the past you could configure network
equipment to bridge non-IP traffic, or bridge non-IP traffic based on
MAC addresses.
I recently was helping someone with this problem and they were using
some CISCO equipment (new). Apparently CISCO didn't make the particular
router capable of bridging non-IP traffic, so it was a dead end.
