Assuming you're using termtype 10 and assuming you're using an HP terminal
or something that emulates HP (this is a lot to assume) make sure that
the ENQ/ACK handshaking is enabled on the remote terminal. The quick
check to see if this is the problem is to supply a ^F (ACK) at the
keyboard when you get the delay. I recommend against using a crude
termtype like 18 as you will later find that popular HP features such
as block mode will not work properly.
