My two lines somehow merged into one.

LOGTOOL>list log=1200/1214 type=111 "device class"="hard
disc",da,ca,"bus converter" OUT
*** ILLEGAL INPUT - UNEXPECTED CHARACTER(S) OR NON UNIQUE TOKEN ( LTERR 601
)

LOGTOOL gives that message as soon as I type any character after the final
T.

The builtin help does not seem to provide much guidance with respect to the
text arguments, which I suspect are the problem.
