I checked into the archives, but didn't find a solution there...
I have a Ricoh CP M4000 Copier that includes a stacker/stapler.
I have been trying to make it work as a network printer from the
HP with no success. I can print to it fine from network workstations.

I can ping the Ricoh from the HP
I can telnet the Ricoh and get a page asking for a password with
a title something like 'ricoh maintenance shell'
I can telnet the ip with port 9100 and it tells me I am connected and
then appears to be waiting for something, as if it is listening.

My npconfig entry looks like:
1044 (network_address = 192.168.100.143 # Ricoh Copier
setup_file = LPDUMB.VSBCMD.SYS
snmp_enabled = FALSE
pjl_supported = FALSE
TCP_port_number = 9100
jam_recovery = FALSE)

The setup is just sending a printer reset.

Probably, a JetDirect box would make it work, but then
I would not be able to use server functions the copier uses
to send emails and transfer scans to user folders and that
is not an option.

Does anyone have a Ricoh copier working? Any problems
with my setup?
