Hi

I am not quite sure I know what you are doing.
Are you adding a new disc system which you have given a new private volume set name?
Or did you take the old disc system away and put another in instead?

Anyway - if you are trying to restore files and they are restored to system volume it may be because the home volume set on the groups are set to system volume instead of the private volume.
When you do a listgroup to one of the groups which should be on the private volume, does it then display the "HOME VOL SET" being the private volume?

Hi

- what was your RESTORE command?

- the command is BULDACCT, if you just fat fingered here, and really failed to find BULDACCT on your system (possibly in PUB.SYS?), then I'm completely lost... hopefully others might help.

- If your tapes are not "exceedingly ancient", the RESTORE command has a ;LISTDIR option, as in (from memory and with help from
http://www.hpmmsupport.com/MPE%20Manual/5500/B3265090856.16122/174.htm):

FILE SYSLIST=<a file spec for where you want your list> RESTORE *T;@[log in to unmask]@;DIRECTORY;LISTDIR
