Guess I should say something here :)
I'm out-of-town, away from desk, and having a few layers
of difficulty surviving (technical and other).
Fortunatly, I (finally) have email access again (during
the day -- motel security issues not solved yet).

As Lars pointed out, there is an issue with reading the
DDS tape to the End-Of-Tape mark. FREAD returns with
length 0 and CCE, not a CCL and FSERR 23 EOT.
When this happens, you can note in glance, a cpu increase
on diagmon because its reporting to the logs the correct
problem of EOT, but returning CCE, FSERR=0, and length=0.

And most likely, with no reported error, will loop and
FREAD again. I don't know if its a SCSI issue, DDS, TAPE,
or what.

SLTCOPY maybe be lost in that cycle.

TapeCopy (lastest is version 2.3) reports the Readlen=0
when it gets one. Your text appears correct. It processed
several records. You should check this tape with CHECKSLT
and it should be good.
The copy back to tape mentions unknown/corrupt archive.
Guess that message could be less offensive.
