Yes, there are 4gb drives that fit. The last ones we installed in this rack
were part number A3352A. I believe these are no longer produced by HP but as
of a couple of months ago they were easily available through many resellers.

If I am remembering right, the mounting hardware for the failed 2gb drive
works fine for the 4gb drive. If you plan to add more drives remember to
order the mounting hardware also.

Also note that even though the disc rack has space for seven drives, you can
only easily put in 6. This has to do with SCSI address limitations and the
one address taken by the SCSI controller. There is a way around it, but it
takes some serious playing around with the wiring and connectors inside the
rack, in addition to the jumpering on one of the SCSI drives.

Subject: [HP3000-L] disk information

Hello all
We have an old HP6000 Scsi SE (Model C3041TM) desktop disk rack. It
has been running 4 2gig drives(out of 7 slots) for a long time. One of
the drives recently failed and we are looking at our options for not
only replacing the lost storage but also increasing our available disk
space. We are a small company so are looking for relatively inexpensive
options. Does anyone know if there is a larger drive that will fit into
that specific rack? If not any suggestions on a single 9 or 18gig drive
that we can replace the whole rack with would be appreciated. Btw, we
are running a 928RX with MPE/iX 6.0 if that makes any difference in our
options.

Thanks
Mark McKinney
