We have a HP5000/C30D laser printer (please have pity on me) which is
giving us (another) headache. We are using a Kentek photoconductor
in this printer. We have been using Kenteck photoconductors for a
few months with out many problems but the last two have started giving
us problems at about 80,000 prints. At this point we get an ERROR 40
(photoconductor seam not detected) and as the book suggest I reinsert
the photoconductor. After that it will print about 2,000 pages and
we will get another ERROR 40. This has happened with (at least) the
past two photoconductors we have gotten.
It is my understanding that these photoconductors are supposed to last
much longer than 80,000 prints. For us they usually last just over
100,000 prints except for the last 2 photoconductors.
Does any other poor person have one of these printers and is anyone
else having the same problem I am with excessive ERROR 40's (or is it
just me?).
Thanks in advance,
Barry
