Hello All,
RE: SR 8606351808 - NMLOGMON (NMERR 79) prevents reboot on system out of
disc space!
A corner case problem has been identified with NMLOGMON which prevents
a system from booting. This corner case is *zero* "AVAIL TO PERM SPACE"
disc space on the system disc (ldev 1). The recovery from this problem
is a system install (reload) from tape backups.
This problem was introduced in patches NMSGDT1(6.5), NMSGDT2(7.0) &
NMSGDV1(7.5).
This problem is resolved in beta test patches NMSHD77 (6.5), NMSHD78
(7.0) & NMSHD79 (7.5).
You can contact the HP-Response Center to request the beta fixes for
SR 8606351808.
----------
An appropriate workaround to avoid this corner case problem is:
1) Monitor disc space utilization on LDEV 1 with discfree:
:discfree b
...
LDEV : 1 -- (MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET:MEMBER1)
...
AVAIL TO TRANS SPACE : 26134240 AVAIL TO PERM SPACE : 23782464
...
2) Cleanup disc space by removing logging files or other files:
:file t;dev=tape
:store [log in to unmask],[log in to unmask];*T;show;purge
3) Verify results of the disc space cleanup by continuing to monitor
disc space utilization on LDEV 1 with discfree.Regards, James Hofmeister
