In logtool, you could to a SUMMARIZE ;log=0000/9999 That will give you what
you want. If the file does not exist, you just get a warning message. At
the end, you will receive a report that looks like this.
LOG0499.PUB.SYS was not processed (It does not exist)
LOG0500.PUB.SYS was not processed (It does not exist)
TYPE DESCRIPTION COUNT

101 SYSTEM UP 2
106 SYSTEM SHUTDOWN 1

Total records checked = 56825. Records selected = 56825.

Agree with you Donna.
But what I'm looking to do is schedule a job say on Saturday night to go
through the existing logs for the summarize output so we at least see if
there are increases in types of records.
I'm just wondering if someone has already built a job that will do a listf
on the log@ files, identifying the 1st and last log and then feeding it to
the list or summarize command in logtool.
I'm thinking at least that way I have something to review to hopefully ward
off problems.
