Okay, I'll leave those SYSGEN commands alone and stick with the VOLUTIL
commands.  I like to understand all my options at a given point in time
and this was a source of confusion regarding a particularly important
part of the operating system.  I read somewhere along the way that the
only time the changes made by the SYSGEN VOL commands took effect was
during an INSTALL, probably why they aren't used.

If one was in the situation of having to do an INSTALL, say, to fix the
system volume table, would SYSGEN commands need to be used or would VOLUTIL
still be the tool of choice?  Since you haven't used the SYSGEN VOL commands
in 11 years I guess the answer is obvious.

Begs the question, why are they there?  They give false/incomplete
information,
which I don't particularly like when dealing with the system configuration.
Would there be any benefit in making the two match manually?  Aside from my
sanity that is.  Sounds like I could be asking for trouble for no benefit.
