We are going to sell our old system (HP3000 937LX) in a few months and I was
wondering what the best route is as far as erasing sensitive data on the
disks. I've been advised so far to format using The "FORMATVOL" command
within the VOLUTIL utility them and/or physically destroy them before the
sale. Is FORMATVOL enough?
Is there an equally effective alternative to degaussing that would be
economical as well as give us some peace of mind if we are to include the
disks in the sale?
